Shevon Nieto is a 2-time Olympian in the 400 meter hurdles for Jamaica. Shevon was a member of the 2004 Olympic team in Athens, Greece and 2008 Olympic team in Beijing, China. Shevon participated at 2005, 2007,and 2015 IAAF World Championships. Shevon has competed at many championships for Jamaica also including 2005 Central American and CaribbeanChampionships, 2006 Common Wealth Games, and 2007 Pan American Games. Her personal best in the 400m hurdles is 54.47, which placed Shevon in the top 10 fastest track and field athletes during her career.
Shevon was born in Kingston, Jamaica. At the early age of 5, she moved to Uniondale, New York. Her track career started at Turtle Hook Junior High School, which by 9th grade, Shevon Stoddart was ranked #3 in the state of New York in the 400meters. It wasn't until her sophomore year when the 400 intermediate hurdles was introduced, which Shevon quickly dominated.
Shevon Nieto received a full Scholarship from the University of South Carolina and majored in Advertising and a minored in Business. Shevon Stoddart made her first Olympic team in 2004 as a junior in College and was a 13-time All American athlete.
Shevon's love for track and field does not stop on the track. Shevon has always committed her time off the track to coaching at various high schools and participates in programs such as "Ready, Set, Gold" to help prepare 5th graders for their California state fitness test. Shevon has a true passion to help others triumph and you will see that in everything she does. Whether it's fitness, music or fashion, Shevon aims to inspire and be a positive light to others.
